Can I be considered a parent to the child that is made with my donated reproductive materials (sperm or eggs)?

In Alberta, the law says that you are not a parent to a child just because you donated reproductive materials that helped create the child. However, this does not mean that you will never be considered a parent to the child. For example, if you act like a parent to a child, a court may still consider you to be a parent to the child.
